And found this rusty old thing.(excuse the tater shots) see what I did there? ;)
A rusty 1967 Dodge Coronet 440 for sale. Exactly what are these things and are they special?

They're a Dodge Charger by any other name. Some were 4 doors, some were 2.
How much? The engine alone would be worth at least a bit, pre-mid-70s 440s are rather desirable, though not as much as a 413 or 426.

There was no price on the car, just a number; I didn't post the number because I don't know, but if you want I can give it to you.

Nah, I'm nowhere near close enough or in a state to go and buy a land yacht.
If it was a 2-door coronet, then we're talking something more.
It would be worth it for the flipping value alone (fix the rust, refresh the motor, clean the interior and paint up) if it's under $5000, or if you had a 2-door car in need of parts or an engine. 2-door coronets can fetch upwards of $30,000 if restored properly.

Not even in a state? Yeah, that might impede on an attempt to get a land yacht.

This one has two too many doors to be collectable. http://eastky.craigslist.org/cto/4559486660…

Mental/financial/emotional state. I fear land yacht commitment.

It's not worth anything? Even with the 440?

Oh. I haven't a clue as to why I read that as if it was out of country. :P
How bad is land yacht ownership?

In a crowded city? Pretty bad. Parking is a nightmare, there's always the threat of people vandalizing your car for various reasons, and everyone thinks you're a seedy, dirty, hillbilly idiot for hurting the environment.
UNLESS it's a nicely restored classic 2-door with shiny paint, then you're a self-made every-man Bruce Springsteen these-colors-don't-run extremist who loves his country too much.
That's why you take the big engine and put it in a little car.

Old Mopar guy here. They aren't worth much. Coronet 440 is the model name, not an engine descriptor. You could get a 4 door 440 with the 440, but those are probably single digit production numbers. That car likely has a slant 6 or a 318. You don't see many 4 door B-Bodies anymore, which makes it cooler, but, that one looks rough. Probably needs a trunk floor and other areas notorious for rust.

I see. This looks like it needed a full resto; but the interior looked pretty clean from what I could see. I can go see if it's still there and snap some more pics.
